Important: ProtonPal does not fully replace the original electronics and does not upgrade the wand.

Tap four wires on the factory electronics, connect the board, and keep the pack controls you already know. Optional connectors let you retain the factory volume control on the wand.

MicroSD feature
Music Mode
With a MicroSD card installed, Music Mode turns the pack into a simple track player. While Music Mode is active, only music plays—other pack sounds are disabled.

Enable Hold down fire while flipping the Intensify switch to ON.

Advance Press fire to move to the next track, up to 99 WAV files.

Exit Turn the Intensify switch to OFF to disable Music Mode.

ProtonPal adds useful expansion points without asking you to discard the pack’s factory electronics.
Optional LED upgrades
Two WS2812 connectors
Attach new Cyclotron or Powercell LEDs through the two 3-pin WS2812 addressable LED connectors on the board.
Configure LED color, speed, and type.
USB-C tool
Web Configurator
Plug ProtonPal into a computer over USB-C to configure settings and update firmware when updates are available.
Settings and firmware updates are handled through the ProtonPal Web Configurator.
Audio output
3W mono amplifier
The MAX98357A amplifier provides 3W mono output, 98dB signal-to-noise ratio, and 0.013% THD.
Connect one speaker directly, or connect both speakers in series for maximum output.
Control and volume
Choose how you set output volume
Volume is fixed at 50% of the amplifier’s maximum output by default. The factory wand volume knob can be retained with the optional connectors, or volume can be adjusted through the Web Configurator.
